AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Ahead of severe weather on Monday afternoon, some CSRA schools have canceled after-school activities.
SAFETY ALERT: How to stay safe during severe weather
As storms head to the CSRA area, we’re on your side with how you can plan ahead.
Here’s a list of school updates:
- Burke County Public Schools has canceled after-school activities. The school system says this also includes after-school care, athletics and tutorial programs. All students will be dismissed at regular time, according to the school system. You can track your student’s school bus to see estimated arrival times on the school bus transportation website.
- Glascock County School System will dismiss students following the regular schedule. All after-school athletic practices and the Family Connections and Communities in Schools after-school program are canceled.
- McCormick County School District has cancelled all after-school athletic practices and activities.
- Richmond County schools and offices will dismiss on their normal schedule. All outdoor extracurricular activities will be canceled or moved indoors when possible. With heavy rain and strong winds expected to begin around dismissal time, the Transportation Department is taking additional safety precautions for after-school travel. Some buses may experience delays. You can track your student’s school bus to see estimated arrival times using Stopfinder.
- South Aiken High School will be dismissing at 1:30 p.m. due to the possibility of inclement weather.
- USC Aiken campus operations and classes will proceed as usual for now. Should conditions change, an update will be provided.
- Warren County Schools will release from the Career Academy at 2:45 p.m. and from the main campus at 2:55 p.m. The Campus will reopen on Tuesday according to the regular daily schedule.
